Expert Ukrainian voice is crucially important for Ukraine and the region—now as it is being relentlessly attacked on several fronts by Russia. It will be even more consequential for the future, for maintaining civilized, democratic, and enlightened values in the reconstruction that will face Ukraine in the postwar period.

Ukraine’s success at that stage will mark the resilience of our common values both there, in Ukraine, on the strategic front lines of Europe, and ultimately for the world at large, which, we all believe, is global and interconnected.

Ukrainian Cultural Rescue Fund for Krytyka envisions a goal of $300,000 to support the work of uprooted Ukrainian scholars and experts in the humanities now, and to help in reconstructing the humanities in Ukraine in the immediate postwar period by:

  1. Providing one-time 10 scholarships/grants through the Krytyka Institute for uprooted scholars working in Ukrainian studies in Ukraine’s devastated cities and institutions:$75,000
  2. Publishing online and in print cutting edge analyses in English and Ukrainian of the run-up, causes, and repercussions of this war, and its resonance in the world today, particularly focusing on the malign influence of imperialist and colonialist approaches:$75,000
  3. Providing editorial, website, and infrastructure support to continue key Krytyka projects in the humanities interrupted by the war:$75,000
  4. Developing state-of-the-art interdisciplinary efforts to jump start an expert discussion of Ukraine’s priorities in the reconstruction after the war: $75,000

Please donate today to help Ukrainian scholars and experts continue their important work!
